NEW OCIA CLASSES STARTING OCTOBER 16TH - JOIN US!
FATHER MARTY’S INVITATION TO ALL PARISHIONERS
Dear Parish Family,
I am sure that most of you have heard the acronym (RCIA). This stands for Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. A few years ago, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops changed this acronym. Now it is (OCIA). This stands for Order of Christian Initiation of Adults. Whatever acronym that is used, it is really about preparing adult individuals to enter into full communion with the Church. This is done through a series of presentations on the Catholic Faith. Most of the people who go through the OCIA, tend to know their faith better than others who have not gone through it.
Because of this, I am opening up the classes to anyone who wants to learn more about the faith. Also, just because you go through the classes, does not mean you have to be Catholic. It is simply helping people to know what Christ has revealed to us and what has been passed on through the Church for the last 2,000 years.
Our classes are going to be on the 1st and the 3rd Thursday of every month starting on October 16th in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Religious Education Building. The classes will start at 6pm and will end at about 7pm. I hope to see you there.
Yours in Christ, Fr. Marty
