We’re very excited to be offering courses through the Catholic Biblical School of Michigan here at All Saints again this fall! This is an excellent opportunity for any parishioners interested in deepening their understanding of Sacred Scripture.

Building upon last year’s course which focused on the Old Testament, this year will cover the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke), the Acts of the Apostles, and the Pauline Epistles.

NOTE: Last year’s course is NOT a prerequisite for our studies this year, so please register even if this is your first year!

The Catholic Biblical School of Michigan was founded in 2009 in the Archdiocese of Detroit to facilitate authentic Catholic scripture study in parishes.

Course Information

time, place, and Format

We will be meeting on Monday nights from 6:00pm to 7:00pm in our parish Multipurpose Room beginning in September and running through May. Each week’s class will consist of an hour long discussion and fellowship. Participants will watch the weekly videos from the Catholic Biblical School at home in preparation for the in-person discussion. In addition to the video lectures, each participant will need to prepare for the class by reading the associated passages from the Bible.

Participants will be able to engage in an online classroom and ask questions during office hours each week with Colleen Vermeulen from the Catholic Biblical School. These sessions are optional, but provide time for questions which may arise from the lecture series.

The course will begin on September 15th, 2024, so register soon!

Also, please note that an entirely online option is available through the Catholic Biblical School of Michigan. If such a course appeals to you, please see the Catholic Biblical Website for more information.

Cost

The cost for this course is $300 per participant. However, we recognize that this is a significant amount and want to offer scholarships for our parishioners. Our parish will cover $100 of the cost for All Saints parishioners who may find the full $300 burdensome. For our parish catechists, the parish will cover $200 of the cost.
