What is the Baraga Youth Fraternity?
Baraga Youth Fraternity began in 2008 with the mission of bringing middle-school boys and dads together to enjoy the outdoors of the Upper Peninsula while providing Catholic formation in prayer, virtue, and fraternity. The goal is to form young men into spiritual leaders with a sense of fraternity, and to help lay the foundation for them to lead their future families and parishes in the pursuit of holiness.
The Baraga Youth Fraternity camping trip involves Daily Mass, prayer, bonfires, canoeing the Two Hearted River, hiking, and much more!
Who can participate?
The Baraga Youth Fraternity is open to young men aged 11 to 16. A number of chaperones are needed to make the trip a success, so if any father would like to join his son please let us know!
When is the 2024 camping trip?
The camping trip will take place August 12-15, and will be based at the Companions of Christ the Lamb property near Paradise, MI.
Where can I register, and what is the cost?
To register, please download the registration form from the link below, fill it out, and return it to our parish office.
Alternatively, registration forms will be available to pick up in our parish office.
The cost for the Baraga Youth Fraternity camping trip is $150 per registrant, due at the time of registration. Payment information is listed on the registration form. Alternatively you may pay online using the link below.
are there ways i can help out?
Yes! Here are some ways you could support the Baraga Youth Fraternity:
Loaning a large tent (10’ x 12’ or larger)
Loaning other camping gear
Donating plastic ware, paper plates or bowls, condiments, paper toweling, rain ponchos, or snacks
Sponsoring a participant’s registration fee
Providing a monetary donation for gas, food, camp site rental, and other supplies
