Weekend of October 2-3, 2010-Twenty-Seventh Sunday In Ordinary Time

Habakkuk 1:2-3;2:2-4                         2 Timothy 1:6-8,13-14                                     Luke 17:5-10

Habakkuk is given a vision that indicates that God will set things right for those who persevere  in faith.  In the second reading, Timothy is told to be firm in faith and, with strength from God, bear the hardships that come with his vocation.  In the Gospel, Jesus tells the Apostles that as they serve God and others, their faith will grow.

One of the greatest gifts we have from God is our faith.  However, this gift is to be nourished and nurtured so it can grow.  It takes more than just proclaiming that we have faith.  We must be people of prayer and action, and be willing to place our trust in God for all we need.  The more we rely on God to strengthen and lead us, the more our faith blossoms.
