Weekend of May 29-30, 2010-The Feast of the Most Holy Trinity

Proverbs 8:22-31                                          Romans 5:1-5                                           John 16:12-15

The reading from the Book of Proverbs establishes that the Holy Spirit - the Wisdom of God - has been part of the Godhead since the beginning.  Paul reminds us, in Romans, that our hope in God will not disappoint, as it has been poured out on us by the Holy Spirit.  The Gospel teaches that the nature of the Holy Spirit is truth.

The persons of the Holy Trinity live in communion with one another, and we are called to live in unity with the Holy Trinity.  We do this by giving thanks and praise to the Father, for creating us; following the teachings of Jesus Christ, who saved us; and being open to the Holy Spirit, who guides us and helps us grow in holiness.
