Acts 2:1-11 1 Corinthians 12:3-7,12-13 John 20:19-23
Many people were in Jerusalem to celebrate Pentecost. When the Holy Spirit had descended on the disciples, the people heard about the mighty acts of God, each in his own language. In the second reading, Paul reminds us that it is the Holy Spirit that unites us. In the Gospel, Jesus appears and makes a gift of the Holy Spirit to the disciples.
As we hear in the Scriptures for Pentecost, the early disciples were transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit, our lives can be spiritually transformed, helping us to live as faithful disciples of Jesus.
The Holy Spirit can empower us to share Christ’s message of love with others, through our words and our actions.
