Acts 15:1-2,22-29 Revelation 21:10-14,22-23 John 14:23-29
In the First Reading, the Church leaders in Jerusalem make known to the Gentile Christians what will be expected of them. In the Second Reading, we hear that the heavenly Jerusalem is full of God’s splendor. In the Gospel, Jesus promises that the Father will send the Holy Spirit to remind us of all that Jesus taught.
The decision of the Council of Jerusalem pushed the Jewish Christian community to the edge of its comfort zone. Nevertheless, the leaders of the Church were confident that their decision was the will of God, shown them by the Holy Spirit. Let us rejoice that God loves us so much that he has given us the Holy Spirit to guide us.
