Revelation 7:2-4,9-14 1 John 3:1-3 Matthew 5:1-12a The reading from Revelation offers a visual of heaven, complete with sanctified people in white robes. The second reading calls us to remember that we are beloved children of God. In the Gospel, Jesus gives the Beatitudes, which are not so much moral laws, as promises for who things will be reversed at the end of time.
On the Feast of All Saints we gather to commemorate and honor all those faithful souls who lived before us and now have eternal life in heaven. The Saints of heaven set an example for us of how we are to live. Now they can intercede on our behalf. May the merits of their prayers, and our following of their example, bring us to share perfect joy with them in heaven.
